Perhaps only Neruda knew how to make language itself seem sensuous :). Many writers describe their respect for language, their awe before it, its power, etc. Not many describe it as an object of desire, something to be devoured, consumed. For Neruda, language seems to be a rather physical experience. If you really like Neruda, check out Red Poppy at www.redpoppy.net.
